Deep inside this app there is a quantity, which you can view and handle in several different ways.
From the bottom up, first it appears on the computer-simulated pegboard, where white circles are empty holes, and green circles are pegs. A column with no pegs means zero. Every peg counts as one. Holes and pegs are numbered, so you can count along. THE NUMERALS are currently VISIBLE. You may click or touch here to hide or reveal them.
The base of the board can be changed at any time through dashboard selector. When animation is not running, you may change the quantity clicking on or touching the pegs, the holes, and the space below the pegboard.
On top of the pegboard the same quantity is shown as the chain of additions of the numerals multiplied by the powers (exponentiations) of the base. The numbers in it are always decimal. THE EXPONENTIATIONS are currently VISIBLE. You may click on or touch here to hide or reveal them.
The indicator displays the same quantity as a number in positional numeral system. Dashboard selector lets you choose the base of the indicator separately from the base of the board, and you may change it at any time.
Dashboard buttons |<, <<, <, >||<, >, >>, >| are very much like those found on any player. Try them all.
Dashboard has animation speed control, which is always available.
Last but not least, should the app want to tell you something, the message will appear on top of the dashboard. This usually happen then you or animation try to go past the limits imposed by the pegboard and the indicator. For example, the maximum quantity, which 10-digits binary number can represent, is 1023. Starting from 1024 the app will not allow you to change any of the bases to binary. You may click on or touch the message to reset it.
